Where Sloths, Monkeys, and Macaws Call Home A Family-Friendly Island Wildlife Sanctuary Daniel Johnson’s Monkey and Sloth Park – Roatan, Honduras Daniel Johnson’s Monkey and Sloth Sanctuary is a beloved animal sanctuary on the island of Roatan, owned and operated by a local man named Daniel Johnson. What began as a personal love for local animals has grown over the years into a safe and caring home for rescued wildlife. A short drive from your port of arrival, this small sanctuary is home to a variety of exotic animals, including sloths, capuchin monkeys, Amazon parrots, and macaws. Other residents include the native agouti (also known as the “island rabbit” of Roatan), spider monkeys, and even a South American raccoon, a species found nowhere else in this region. Visitors have the opportunity to meet and interact closely with monkeys, macaws, and parrots (bring your camera!). Please note that, as of April 2025, new wildlife protection measures stipulate that sloths are for viewing and photography only, while visitors can still interact directly with the monkeys, macaws, and parrots. Mangroves surround the sanctuary grounds, and lounge chairs are available at no extra charge, so you can relax and enjoy the stunning Caribbean views before or after your animal encounter. Excursion and Activity Policy All excursions and activities are subject to availability and weather conditions. Cruise Ship Return Guarantee B&B Island Tours prioritizes returning all guests to their cruise ships on time. Guests must follow the agreed meeting times and instructions provided by their tour guide. 7.
